Splinterlands Art Contest Week 295 - GRIM REAPER

For week 295 of the Splinterlands Art Contest, my entry is a drawing of the character Grim Reaper.

Grim Reaper is a Rare Death Element Unit with a strong ranged attack. It can only be used in the Wild Format of Rank Battle.

To create this drawing, I first drew a skeleton wearing a hoodie and holding a scythe because this is how I envision the Grim Reaper. By the way, the Grim Reaper is also known as death.

I gradually built the image using a charcoal brush until I achieved the desired appearance of the Grim Reaper.

I added many folds to Grim Reaper’s clothing to make it look like fabric.

After finishing the outline, I began coloring. For coloring, I used fill and cleaned up the edges using a charcoal brush.

I separated the colors into layers to avoid overlapping when adding shading effects.

For blending the shades, I applied dark and light shades on top of the main color depending on where I visualized the shadows casting on the image.

In the areas where I thought the light direction was coming from, I added light or white colors.

For the background, I decided to draw a moon and added some light clouds using a cloud brush.
