Considerado como el mejor gimnasta cubano de todos los tiempos, Erick López Ríos logró conseguir una marca muy difícil de igualar: 22 medallas en Juegos Deportivos Panamericanos, de ellas 18 de oro, y de estos títulos cuatro fueron como Mejor Gimnasta del torneo.
