Robert E. Howard is most known as the creator of the iconic sword and sorcery hero, Conan the Barbarian. But before Conan, Howard wrote the savage tales of Solomon Kane, the Puritan. First published in the August 1928 edition of Weird Tales magazine, "Red Shadows" is the first adventure of the wondering avenger Solomon Kane. This story is almost 100 years old now and in the public domain. Fans of pulp fiction and action-adventure tales can read it for free at Project Gutenberg.

On Sunday morning around 8am I had two choices, laze around for a bit or go for a run. Last Sunday I chose to laze around, and ended up feeling lazy all week. So today, I choose to start on the right foot. I water my little lime tree, pictured above, and head out the door.

For some reason I was feeling lazy today. Not only today, but this whole week. I missed my planned Sunday run and one thing led to another and all of a sudden its Thursday and I hadn't exercised once. So after dinner I summon my willpower, strap on my shoes, put in my headphones and start up this new playlist i'd made the night before, and head out door.

We had some great weather on Friday with clear blue skies. Unfortunately, I spent most of the day either inside or driving from place to place, and not moving a whole bunch. In the evening after dinner I felt tired and lazy, but I laced up my sneakers and headed out for a run anyway.

On Wednesday evening after cleaning up dinner, I head out for a jog. It was already past sunset and pretty dark. Today's pictures come from earlier in the day, around noon when it was bright and sunny. I was happy to get out for some exercises, I'd felt sluggish earlier in the week and didn't move to much on Monday or Tuesday, so it was good to get out for some running and make this midweek shift.

These days, I'm trying to run three times per week aiming for Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Last week I ran on all three days and felt really good and I hope to continue the momentum. I felt a bit groggy on Sunday morning, but still made it up and out by around 7:30am and jogged about 5k.
