A Little Ska for Three Tune Tuesday, Published on Thursday!

Well, here it is Thursday and only now I am I getting around to doing my Three Tune Tuesday. It been one of those weeks that I feel like I'm constantly catching up, always more that needs to be done that there are hours in the day... At least I found some time this afternoon to throw together a post.

Today I felt in the mood for some ska/reggae music, and I'll kick off the fun with The English Beat. Or four those over in the UK, The Beat!

Also known as The Beat in England, these guys came together in 1978 and fused ska, reggae, and punk into their music. They released three albums in the early 1980's with multiple hit songs. Then they dissolved as a band in 1983 leading to the formations of two other well known bands that I'll discuss below. This one is called "Save It For Later":

After the breakup of The English Beat, singer Dave Wakeling and Ranking Roger teamed up with some former members of The Clash, Dexy's Midnight Runners, and the Specials. In 1984 they released there debut album called "All The Rage" which include their big hit "Tenderness" and "Hot You're Cool", this one is "Tenderness":

Formed in 1984 after the dissolution of English Beat, bassist David Steele and guitarist Andy Cox joined forces with singer Roland Gift. They produce two studio albums with the biggest one coming in 1989 with "The Raw and the Cooked". Their biggest hit was the song: "She Drives Me Crazy":
