Well Hello There Fellow Wednesday Walkers And Hivers!
Another _Wednesday_ another _Walk._
Today I've got some very cool pictures to share with everyone, well a lot of pictures of the same object but it's not really the pictures that count hey it's the thought.
_Or so they say._
I took them very long ago, around a month or two before our country officially went into lockdown, remember those days? Where everyone barred their doors and got the guns loaded because we all thought the zombie apocalypse has finally arrived? I remember it all too well, to be honest I was kind of hoping for a end of the world scenario, ah well maybe next time I'll be more lucky.
Anyways.
This day stood out quite well since it was the very first time that someone had some faith in me to actually be in control of their very expensive camera so that I can take some photos of what I wanted to and how I wanted to, it was simply amazing. Along with that we decided to do as much as we possibly can before we too went into lockdown, I mean everything was very uncertain back then but as one country after the other went into lockdown it was only a matter of time until we were next and the number of infections were rising dramatically. (Funny there's not a thing to be heard on the news now about Covid, at-least now where I'm from. It must be that the hot African sun burnt it to bits.)
Okay, Okay let's leave the history in the past and start down the walk that we had.
The walk itself was insane long and it wasn't the coolest of days either, it was in the mid of summer but hey at-least we burned some fat that day and had a whole bunch of fun trying to be a pro behind the camera, be warned it was my first attempt at photography.
As you can see we're literally somewhere in the middle of nowhere... At-least getting lost wont be a problem since this was no jungle, here in my country we call this "Platteland" which directly translates to flatlands, sounds like something from an apocalypse movie right? "Beware of the flatlands!"
Anyways, forget the environmental setting of it all, this is one of those photo's where you can actually see the heat swelling around, I think. But forget about that too, notice the birds all sitting on the wire? Notice how they are all looking in the same direction? I wonder what that means, if at all anything?
If I had any notion of what might be going on in a birds brain, (I know not much) but it must be that they are headed for that patch of land with the trees? Might be they stopped for a wing rest?
As I said earlier there's a lot of nothingness in this side of the country although it has it's own way of being beautifull right? I can tell you what I do appreciate about this side of the country and that would be the lack of noise pollution, the only thing you hear out here is the wind and the thousands of "Son Beesies" (Don't even ask me what that is called in English because I have absolutely no damn clue what so ever!)
_Serenity at its finest!_
The main goal of the whole adventure was actually to find the sheep and bring them back to the camp closest to the farm house, well as always they were in the last place we looked. The farm was actually a whole lot bigger than I thought it was.
But we found the sheep, now to chase them back.
Somewhere on the farm, once again in the middle of nowhere and somewhere we came down on a head of a Oryx placed on top of an old abandoned Termite nest, well at-least I think it's abandoned, might not be after all. Now I have used one of the photos in a post before but not in the same context at all.
I know most would find this disturbing to look at but heck I grew up like this and in a family of hunters soooo I'd say deal with it? I dunno...
Anyways.
What I found interesting about this all is that it looked like some kind of marker, now this was probably someone who came hunting and left the head there, it couldn't have been too long ago as well but the farmer said he has no idea who placed it there and when it was placed but he knew about it.
Perhaps some cult living somewhere on the land or in a tree and the horns are pointing towards their ritual place, who would know especially nowadays with everyone being fucking dark as hell. 😂
We literally had to chase the sheep in a circle all the way back to the house and take a look at these three slogging sheep at the back, it's like they are telling us well "screw the crew we are those willing to be left behind, yeahhhh we know what's going to happen to us." Okay wow why am I making up stories about what the sheep might think? Damn I can make up the weirdest stuff in my head sometimes. Now that's also probably a problem when writing, I suppose I should just stick to free writing because it's so damn hard to stick to a topic. Who's with me on that one? Just tapping down what comes up!
Now this is probably the most important part of this post if there is any?
Some might not even see what really happened in this picture, to be honest I myself didn't even notice it for a long time but this was once a tree that fell over and died... but from what remained new life started to form. The tree died but it was ultimately reborn, it must have taken a long time for it to start growing again but at the end of the day it survived and endured even though it fell down hard.
What I'm trying to say is that no matter what happens in life, falling down and hitting rock bottom isn't the end! Not at all! It's merely a chance to reset the foundations of yourself! Tear it down to build it up! I mean heck not everyone gets such an opportunity and I know most would think it's truely the end of the world! But getting a chance for a clean white page damn.... that is something and when you're the one being handed that white blank page... Make the story good this time ey!
_It's rarely the end where there is something left._
