Did you know that witness servers do some important stuff? mostly 2 different things - making and signing blocks, and "waiting" - being ready to do so!If a witness has a "node", this is about different levels and depth of access to history data. But the making and the signing of blocks, and the being ready to do so part - this has not much to do with "node" storage.

This is meaningful for me. My first blockI counted no less than 38 unique accounts when I skimmed through this block, many of them known to me after almost 8 years on this chain.Two @podping transactions in fact.Even the mighty @blocktrades themselves executed a transaction in our block. I am so proud.
