Some random spring things from Vermont. Sweet scented geranium is blooming.Columbine is blooming too. This is Rocky Mountain Blue Columbine. The native red columbine is blooming also. We have some in back of the house but its too deep in tick-ville to get a picture this morning.
In Vermont, Spring is time to get outside! Our garden draws alot of our time in the spring. We start our plants inside. A great addition to this process is a cold frame. Our neighbor gave us the basics - the frame and the window. I attached the window with hinges, added chains to hold it open, a handle and a thermometer. Also built a frame around the old window because it didn't quite cover the box.
Our irises are opening! We got a bunch of iris bulbs from a neighbor last year. We planted them and crossed our fingers 🤞They have been beautiful 😍They seem to be doing very well in their new home.I suppose the real theme of this post should be gratitude to our lovely neighbors but Wow! those blooms lol
Yellow Lady Slipper Orchid growing near Lake Dunmore in Salisbury, Vermont. Here is wiki on Lady Slipper Orchids We are lucky to have wild lady slippers growing in our area. They are very specialized to certain conditions as I guess all orchids. They are very hard to grow in "captivity".
Well when nature gives you rain... Tooks a few photos between showers. Or truthfully gave up and went out in the drizzle 🙄These are a neighbors lilacs. We planted some a couple of years ago but it will be awhile before they look this nice.
A few shots from yesterday at the lake. The lake was smooth. The sky was harsh. The mountains seems to be floating in the sky. Here's a pano that anchors the mountains back to earth with trees and a deck in the frame.Have a great day 👍
