First frost of the year at the lake. It got down 31F last night and it showed this morning.A late blooming Rudbeckia got caught in the frost.The frost on the grass contrasting the red foliage as the sun comes up.The bee balm has been thriving this fall in the cool weather but won't last long as the temperatures drop.

Dreary fall weather here in Vermont. Cold, rainy and no sun. Not ideal photography conditions 🙁The colors are coming but need some clear skies for better shots.And a smooth lake for those perfect reflection shots.The clouds make for an interesting morning but hard to capture the feel.

Leicester Hollow Trail is in Addison County near Brandon, Vermont.The route we took starts at the Minnie Baker Trailhead. From there you climb up to Chandler Ridge for about a mile then join the Leicester Hollow Trail. Leicester Hollow Trail follows Leister Hollow Brook to Silver Lake. Then we hiked down to the Silver Lake Trailhead where we left a car before starting. The entire hike was about 7.2 miles.

Beaver Pond on Beaver Pond Road in Salisbury, VermontWe were driving home from Burlington, Vermont. We took a country road to enjoy the colors.We planned to stop but well you know how that goes when you have been out running errands and are tired.

Fall is a beautiful time in Vermont.Weather has been nice so its a great time to get out there.Today is a bit rainy and wet so I will probably be inside culling through my photos file.Here's a morning shot that I liked but isn't really fall. The sun is struggling to get over the mountains and out of the clouds.

Abby Pond, Addison County, Vermont.Abby Pond is at about 1700 feet above sea level on the edge of the Green Mountains which you can see in the distance.The hike is about 2.2 miles in with a 1200 foot increase in elevation.
