Bell Tower

By @steemulator5/23/2018greece

This church building on Myconos looked brighter than sky. Freshly painted in stark white it merged with the blue sky repeating the colors of the Greek flag (or the other way around). We were told the white color is an old tradition, based on practicality of life in a hot climate: it gives building an extra protection from the scorching sun. It also required by local regulations to have buildings painted in white, at least on the Greek islands.
