Seeing Beyond the Situation: Embracing Vision and the Power of Dreams

*Seeing beyond the situation*
Too many times, I have read and heard people say that the quality of our lives is based on our vision—the way we see things, the perspective we draw about things, what we see for ourselves, and how we can picture, imagine, and project into the future. I have also come to believe in this fact and that is because there are so many times that I have made improvements in my life through the way I had envisioned things.

The reason why I write about this topic today is because I am reminded about the need to dream—the need to have a vision. If we don't have this, then we are limiting the quality of our lives and letting others choose the way our life should be lived.
During phases where we may be in difficult situations, we struggle to stay positive; it is always difficult to have a different perspective that is different from what may seem we are in. And sometimes, you may just be having a bad day—typically one that can occur when going to work and rain starts falling suddenly, only to find out that you have a flat tire and your umbrella is damaged—leaving you no choice but to go under the rain. Situations like this can be annoying or difficult but if we see every difficult disappointment and see it as a blessing in disguise, it would open us to the blessings we are looking for.
I have learned to look at challenges and difficulties as opportunities to grow. It has shaped my mindset not to be affected by my situation but instead to dream more and envision a life without the challenges—and to develop a plan that will make that dream a reality.

A Personal Story

While I was back at the university, I had always envisioned having a solar system at my place so that I could boost my productivity. There was this particular route that I usually pass through that had so many solar panels on their roofs, and I always say to myself that one day I would have a solar plant of my own. I began envisioning my life with one unknowingly that it would be a reality sooner than I thought.
If I had never dreamt or envisioned myself having a solar setup, I would not have found myself with one. My life was shaped by my thoughts; this is why it is important to guide your thoughts and see beyond your situation. Most times, we may not think we are capable of such situations or opportunities but there is nothing more free than a dream; it is that dream that instills the ground floor of our capabilities. What this means is if you haven't dreamt it, you can't fulfill it.
