Seems like the insects and hummingbirds are coming through and visiting these flowers. Recently I saw a beetle going into the flowers and feeding on the pollen from what I could tell. Not sure what kind it is, but was quite the sight to see it just walking all around inside the flower.
Recently I set up some t-posts and ran some paracord across them. Now its time to plant the California Wild Grapes in four holes I dug. They will make a good food plot for the deer and will be fun to pick a few as well for whatever use we want. Though I think it may be a few years before they produce.
Adding cheese to meat loaf, specifically cottage cheese is something I find tasty. Some people find this really weird, but I like it. And it can make for a hearty meat loaf. Will take me a week or so to eat it all. I have made it a few times so figure I should share how I make it.
Hive has had communities for a few years now, as I post I have some I found that I enjoy posting more in some than others. So I looked at my most commonly used communities and wrote about each. With six of them to look at, we can find some different content in each of their communities. And all of them are great as a whole for the entire network.
Normally I find that they stay up at night, but sometimes I will see them during the day as well. Looks like a doe to me, and in pretty good shape. It was probably feeding on the grass that was recently cut. I always enjoy seeing animals like this outside, makes me look out the windows all the time.. lol
Along with the lime, I am having wood chips added by the truckload to my upcoming garlic area. Tilling these in the ground should have a beneficial effect on the soil in a year or so. This is just the start though, as we plan on adding hay as well into the ground to make for lots of biomass to break down onto the field and hopefully start to build good soil over the long term. Want to get above 5% one day. Raising the organic content percentage in the soil is the goal here, so adding lots of wood chips will be a good start.
