These little birds are so funny, the antics I see going on outside my window is pretty amazing. Sometimes they all get along, but usually they will go after each other while feeding. And sometimes they will sit on top of the feeder, waiting for others to try to feed just to swoop down on them.
The only upkeep and maintenance I have for my solar panels is keeping the weeds at bay and cleaning them off once in awhile. Besides that, they just work. But with some recent rains and spring time in effect the weeds have grown quite a bit around them. We added a lot of lime powder last year to try to make a weed barrier, it worked on the most thick parts but other areas it just pushed through.
I drilled some holes for my new rose bushes awhile back, dug them really deep using an auger bit on my skid steer. When I planted the roses they all sat in the holes well and fit perfectly. But eventually it rained, and when that happened I found the plants sunk in the holes quite a bit... Some over a foot deep into these holes! So I had to do something. Thinking the rose bushes would not like being that sunken into the holes.
Seems like the insects and hummingbirds are coming through and visiting these flowers. Recently I saw a beetle going into the flowers and feeding on the pollen from what I could tell. Not sure what kind it is, but was quite the sight to see it just walking all around inside the flower.
Recently I set up some t-posts and ran some paracord across them. Now its time to plant the California Wild Grapes in four holes I dug. They will make a good food plot for the deer and will be fun to pick a few as well for whatever use we want. Though I think it may be a few years before they produce.
Adding cheese to meat loaf, specifically cottage cheese is something I find tasty. Some people find this really weird, but I like it. And it can make for a hearty meat loaf. Will take me a week or so to eat it all. I have made it a few times so figure I should share how I make it.
