**Introduction**
Last week, I shared
an insane battle for the social media challenge. This week I want to share my thoughts on the most recent
townhall on January 18th which seems to be super bullish in my opinion.
**Conflicts**
Conflicts is finally here. I have to say I am super impressed with how it's been done and I'm totally loving the new system. You can see below that I'm participating in this conflict airdrop. I have 33,815 per hour contribution. I set this up the first few hours conflicts came out. I should be guaranteed one copy of rage so hopefully I get that 2% of getting a gold foil one. I love how there was an auto-fill button. I can't imagine how much time I would have had to waste without that button. A job well done here with conflicts and I have nothing to complain about.
**New Player Experience**
There was some discussion on new player experience. They want to figure out a way to balance the needs of existing players along with new ones. They have clearly identified the types of players out there and want to bring them more to the emotional side. Have them feel atttached to Splinterlands instead of a majority stuck on the ROI.
There were also some leaks on avatar customization and player housing. This would be amazing. Customization model is huge. Just think of League of Legends skins; there is a reason why Riot Games are making millions of dollars. I could see another source of revenue with special avatar or house items and of course card skins as well. There were a few rebellion cards that had Christmas skins during Christmas so why not have them for sale and make money off it come on Splinterlands step it up.
**Rank Overhaul**
There is going to be a complete rank overhaul. I'm super excited for this. It can be frustrating to climb the ranks and honestly the bonus rating for a win streak didn't really make sense and caused way too much rating inflation. There was some talk about completely removing the league system which is quite interesting. This would mean that diamond level cards could be played in the bronze rating. That way these players that invested can actually climb up to where they should be instead of getting stuck in bronze. I'm totally down for this change to happen if they follow through with what they said. I'm looking forward to this change and will discuss more about it when there's actual details on the changes happening.
**Soulbound Reward Cards**
There was also some talk about a new set of soulbound reward cards coming out this year. They also mentioned that the current soulbound will be unlocked once the new ones come out. The cost hasn't been confirmed but I heard that they were considering 18x the burn price which is a bit insane. It would cost over 200k dec to unlock a gold foil legendary. There will be vouchers for discount so who knows this might be the time to stock up on vouchers. I still haven't maxed out my soulbound reward cards so hopefully I will have enough to max at least 1 copy of each card for collection purposes, even better if I can have 1 gf max of each.
Thank You
