Recently I’ve been experimenting with a new style of short video that blends some music experiments, video experiments and some messages I’d like to leave people with about pursuing dreams, adaptong to other cultures, exploring creativity, creating better relationships and living a more meaningful life.
In my mind these work very well together as art that can double up as “content”, but the algorithms at youtube have clearly changed and so it’s really hard to tell if they have legs.
I want to give my Untangled Knots youtube channel one last serious attempt, and if it works, I’ll keep going with it, and if it doesn’t I may put the channel to rest and focus 100% on my music and stories and only work on videos that are part of my music focused projects.
It’s a shame because I wanted to create some kind of discussions around the topics I mentioned but I can’t always justify putting the time in if they are destined for no ones eyes and ears and I don’t like adapting myself to algorothms which are fickle and ever changing when I could be putting that effort somewhere else.
Before I admit defeat, I will give it one past month or two. Who knows. Maybe they’ll catch on.
Here are the most recent of the two:

We don’t give ourselves space to feel things fully because it will disturb our daily rhythm. As a result, it can be difficult to identify exactly how we are feeling beyond a vague “good” or “bad”
Other times we feel something too strongly and focus entirely on that emotion which blinds us to everything else going on inside of us.
But if you take time to look at yourself honestly and quietly, without judgement, you often find that different emotions tend to occupy the same space.
We automatically choose one emotion or another to describe how we are feeling but they are perfectly capable of coexisting and if we fail to acknowledge them it will lead to us acting against our own interests.
Different emotions can coexist

You can’t control what happens to you, but you can control what you do with what happens to you. Some cliches are worth remembering.
Having a proactive response to what happens to you will often lead to a better outcome.
Of course it’s not a direct control where you get to decide all the details but you can still choose which way to set your sail and influence the general direction of your ship even if you can’t control the waves or the wind.
If you prime yourself for positive outcomes by taking positive action, you will get more positive outcomes, even if you can’t predict which out outcomes are positive.
What could you do today to make your life feel just a tiny bit better?
