Hail to the Hive!
Spring has sprung, as they say, and with it are these occasional glorious days, a tease, a sneak peak, a promise of what summer may yet give us in the near future. Or so I hope as last year was a complete washout with rain and and of course MORE RAIN!
Just recently we have been moving the boat from Market Harborough back towards Foxton Locks and it has been so pretty and fresh.
Both of our recent spots had these near little foot bridges next to them which allows walkers access across the canal connecting footpaths
As much as it looks as though it's in the middle of nowhere these footbridges are surprisingly well used by the local residents and boaters alike. Convenient pathways connecting towns and villages while avoiding roads
The broken dash lines on this map ,from google maps, shows the public footpaths. Made for a nice reflection photo as well as a good vantage point from which to take some shots of Narrowboat Cygnet at its countryside canal mooring.
Our next spot a few nights later was equally as Idyllic and also had a footbridge.
I felt this one made a better photograph in its own right.
It also gave a nice vantage point to show a different perspective of us nestled in amongst the reeds.
Easy access along the country footpaths to places.
And a beautiful view to wake up to I the morning and to have a nice cold beer in the evening. I do so love being able to change our views all the time.
Being nomadic does have its advantages, and you can always untie the boat and move if you don't like your neighbours 😜
and as you guys know I do.......
Love a bit of #monomad 😜
