This past week has been a very difficult time for me. I am depended entirely on the events industry and with the #corona virus infections escalation in South Africa most of my work/events up until the end of April 2020 has been cancelled. Although there are still other smaller events that will still come along and installations that may take place that will not be enough to support my company through the next few months.
I was glad to hear that the Japanday 2020 held at Oude Libertas open air theater on 14 May 2020 was not canceled due to the #corona virus outbreak. Although this is a very serious outbreak the treat level was not as high as in other areas in the Western Cape. But for the event to take place there were very strict policies and guideline set out by the local health officials. I must congratulate the Japanese consulate and the events managing team for their commitment to the event and the safety of all the attendees.
Living a balanced lifestyle is harder than it looks. I know this as I am currently balancing work, family, running and bonsai. This does not seem like it can be a difficult thing to do but it's hard to manage. We all have the same amount of hours in a day. How and what you spend it on is entirely up to you. A lot can be said if you look at how a individual lives their life by looking at what they prioritize. Somethings get done and other are put on hold. This is something that I really grapple with as I do not want to be seen as person with too many things to balance that cracked under pressure, but on the other hand I want to teach my daughter that through hard work you can achieve great new heights. I have my personal statement pinned next to my desk and in the statement I mention "I value honesty, integrity and consistency because I believe in being genuine". The honesty and integrity part comes naturally the consistency part is the thing that I need to work on everyday.
This week I was blessed with two figs on my bonsai tree. They have been on the tree now for some time and I have been waiting for them to be ready to eat. Today was that day! The figs were nice, firm and very sweet. I was just lucky to get to the fruit before the birds did.
Last week I posted a blog about a Ficus tree that I defoliated. To read more on that see the link below:This week I thought I would show how I trimmed a Ceder tree that I have been working on over the past six years. Working on bonsai trees is not always as interesting as it seems. Some aspects of bonsai are very mundane and I for one lose interest if I have to do the same thing over and over again with out seeing results.
Happy belated new years to all the #steemit guys and gals. Hope you had an eventfull festive season and that you could use this time to rest so that you are ready for 2020.In my last blog I mentioned that I defoliated a Ficus tree in November 2019. I did not want to post any blogs on the progress as I wanted the tree to recover before I shared the trees journey with you. I took a few photos before and after the tree was defoliated and also a few during the defoliation process. I posted some of these photos at the bottom of my previous blog. I will be sharing what defoliation is and ending off with a brief look at the tree before and after defoliation.
