While visiting the Everglades last week I encountered a large Blue Heron in the bike path standing tall with its wings spread. While I did not have the camera ready in time to capture him in that pose, I had the opportunity to take some photos of the bird. Here are some of my favorites.

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.I drove down from Buffalo and am currently visiting my father in Myrtle Beach for the weekend. We went out to the Myrtle Beach boardwalk today where I took these photos. It's the off season and kind of cold, so the place was mostly empty.

This is my entry for the #monomad challengeI decided to escape Buffalo and drive south for the month. I booked two nights at an Air BNB in Frederickburg, Virginia for the first stop on my trip. The forecast was in the high 40s (F) for Wednesday when I would drive down here. Awesome! Then I started seeing news stories about hours long traffic jams Monday night due to a massive surprise snowstorm. When I got into town last night, trees were down in the road. There were abandoned cars. Entire business districts were shut down with no electricity. All the traffic lights were out. Luckily the apartment building where I was staying still had power. I was unable to take photos because I was driving. I decided to go for walk this morning and take photos of the city. Enjoy!

Christmas evening went very late. We drank wine and put out presents after.This was at my sister's house. They had two trees this year.The kids all enjoyed their gifts and sang songs.

My girlfriend and I took a trip to a cemetery a couple hours away recently. Here are some photos from our journey.There was a 50 foot tower with a spiral staircase and small windows.The view of the cemetery was nice from here.
