Training at gym… for the #monomad challenge

Hello, lovers of black and white photography.
Today I’m sharing part of a series I shot with the Cuban national triathlon team.

I usually follow them to many competitions and training sessions: swimming, running, and cycling. That’s their natural ground. But this time was different. I had never seen them train in a gym before, so I decided to join them, observe, and document how they face this other kind of effort.

For this series, I worked with my Canon 5D Mark III. Since it was an indoor space, I thought the 50mm f/1.8 would be a good choice… and it was. Still, to be honest, I shot almost everything stopped down to f/2.8, looking for a balance between light, detail, and subject separation.

The only regret I have is not bringing the Pentacon 29mm f/2.8. It would have been very interesting to try it in this environment, even being a manual lens. I’m sure it would have brought a different look, a different character.

So… if you wanna know something extra or just comment… do it! I’ll be waiting for response
