The movie in question, The Shawshank Redemption, is my father’s favorite movie, and he doesn’t even care for film. In fact, there have been countless times where I would be so invested in a movie only to see his chair is empty or he’s snoring, sleep more interesting than movie night. I remember when I was younger I’d ask him if there was any movie out there that he like, and he’d say The Shawshank Redemption. I remember seeing the movie cover and thinking, what, why?
