This lovely white flower has bloomed in our terrace garden! In South India, this flower is called ' Brahma Kamala'. The speciality of this flower is that it blooms only once a year, only at night, and lasts for only one night! It blooms in the monsoon season only (from June to September). This flower is considered sacred as per the Hindu mythology, symbolizing purity and transcendence. Its scientific name is 'Saussurea obvallata'. It has many medicinal properties and used in the treatment of bone ache, coughs and colds.
