Airplane and Octopus

Once an Airplane flew,
Wings flashed in the sun.
And suddenly on top of him
Fell Octopus, very fat.

"What is this creature?"
The Airplane was surprised,
"How could he get higher than me?
I'm flying high in the sky!"

The Octopus answered him:
"I so wanted to get into the sky,
And so I decided to try,
I decided to figure out how to be in the sky, above."

"But you're an Octopus, not an Airplane!"
The plane answered him,
"You can't fly high
You're too heavy and big."

"But I want to fly," cried the Octopus,
"I want to fly and feel free,
Not be tied to the bottom of the ocean.
However, I always fall."

The Airplane realized this dream,
And together they flew higher.
Airplane supported Octopus with its wings,
And the Octopus felt free.

So they flew for a long, long time,
Until they found the landing strip.
Octopus in gratitude gave
To Airplane a bright pearl.

Now they're friends for life,
Fly together in the sky,
And they proved to everyone
That dreams can come true even for Octopus.

The original text was written by me in Russian. I haven't studied English systematically so the translation may not be ideal. The main work was done by Google Translate, I just corrected obvious absurdities, where I noticed them and where I did not confuse them with brilliant insights.
