Most us are aware of the vital importance of getting sufficient amounts of Vitamin D, on our overall health and sense of wellbeing. With an excellent and most obvious source coming from just going outside into the sunlight!
Does the glow from my computer screen count? 🙄

Hahaha ... Okay. Funny. Not funny. I have decided to write this follow-up to my post from yesterday, "
Virtual community. Reality?," in which I mentioned a key word.
Balance.
Light and
Life
Long an amateur student of words and their meanings, I may appreciate them more than many, as I think they have a greater power than we typically assign them. At least consciously. Not all words are created equal, of course, in terms of how much power they might bring to bear on any given topic.
How about these two words? Light and life? Well, let's see, literally and figuratively. Without them, I would not be writing this content. And you would not be reading it. 😉

These two words are interrelated. Which we have at least some understanding of, but how much do we have yet to learn?
At least we can be certain of this. Sunlight is essential to life.
I will just leave this thought to linger, while stating what I think is true.
There is no viable
man-made substitute!
And, if true, I need to make a conscious to expose myself to more of it, than I have been recently. It has been far too easy to slip away in the wrong direction .
Don't just sit there.
Do something!
We need to move. Take action. Contract our muscles. Sitting on them doesn't count! Hahaha ...
Seriously, I have been reading some very thought-provoking books recently on the topic of our overall health and wellbeing. Here are a couple which I highly recommend:
They both take different approaches to addressing the same basic problem of how our existing medical system is letting us down. It will come as no surprise that each of them have a lot to say about our need to be more active!
And, if some "kickstart" motivation to do so is needed, the underestimated consequences of continuing to kick the can down the road of life. And say ... Maybe ... Tomorrow ...

Quietly reflecting on all that is happening in our lives has some unmistakable value. How about combining it with getting some much needed exercise by just walking around out in the sunlight?

When I make the conscious effort to consistently do this, it is memorable how much improvement I experience in my overall sense of wellbeing.
Why is it so challenging to consistently do it then? Am I the only one who wrestles with this challenge? 🤷♂️ From all I read, probably not ...

Images like this bring back memories of my childhood, while reflecting on this challenge. My mother was adamant and unwavering, in her insistence:
"Go outside and play!"
As is likely the case with many of you, at the time I was not nearly as thrilled with her wisdom, as I am now.
