Ungracefully

By @pinkspectre9/23/2018poem

We aged
emulating the adults
we would meet on our path
until we became them

Hips widened
and beauty leaked through
new wrinkles in our
previously pristine flesh

We were unaware that age
would not dispel uncertainty
or insecurity
only ease its acknowledgement

We aged
and a plethora of platonic kisses
bound the panic
on weathered flesh
