Which one would you hang on your wall? | #1

Hey everyone!

I've decided to start a new weekly series I've had in mind for a while now.

As a photographer, I run into one big problem constantly: I'm completely biased about my own work. There are photos I think turned out great ‒ some even have real personal meaning to me ‒ but that doesn't mean everyone else is going to feel the same way. And then there's the flip side: I've lost count of how many times a photo I figured was just okay ended up getting way more attention than I expected.

So I came up with this series. Every week I'll show you three to five of my photos displayed in actual room mockups ‒ so you can picture them on your wall. And I don't just mean your living room. Think about them in a home office, a workplace, a conference room, even a garage or workshop. Whatever space speaks to you.

My goal is simple: figure out which images really grab you. Which ones would actually make you want to hang them somewhere. And why.

It's a big experiment for me, and I'm after honest feedback. It's also helping me figure out which of my best shots deserve a spot in my new Etsy shop.

Drop your favorite in the comments and tell me why you picked it.

To make this even better, I'm giving away a free, print-ready version to the best comment on this post. Pick whichever photo speaks to you most ‒ it could be yours.

For this edition, I've put together four photos for you. I'm trying to keep them thematically connected, so this time around it's all nature details.

The first one is a bumblebee on a thistle. The thumbnails don't really do it justice, but if you zoom in, you'll see I managed to catch those wings mid-flutter. (Lucky shot? Maybe ‒ but luck favors the prepared.) Plus, there's something really satisfying about that green-and-purple contrast.

Dragonflies are a dream to photograph. But are they just as compelling to look at? This shot plays up the delicate wing structure against a clean background. Where would you actually hang this one?

As a counterpoint to the delicate beauty of the insects, there's this snail. That glossy, sturdy body paired with those lush, fresh green leaves around it—there's something really satisfying about that combination. And yeah, the shell texture is worth a closer look too.

The last one is a butterfly on a rough, textured surface. The colors are more muted and calming, and that grainy backdrop could work really well in a simple, minimal space.

So that's the first installment of this series. Which one would you actually hang on your wall ‒ for yourself or as a gift? What grabbed you, and what didn't? Do you prefer the bold colors of the bumblebee, or are you more into the muted tones of that butterfly on the stone? Let me know in the comments.

Next week, I'm thinking something different—maybe some winter landscapes.
