First up, I had some sports waiting for a fiscal shrike bird to fly over the exact "V" of a mountain valley.The mountains called out to my camera, to come and visit them, the camera asked me to take it for a drive. I think that the mountains and my camera were in discussions behind my back, as when we approached the mountains, the camera wanted me to stop the car, and to climb a hill behind a cricket club. Well, what do you know, as I crested the hill, I saw that there was a game in progress, and my camera whispered to me to take some shots with the mountains in the background, in order to share the photos with all on hive. We, my camera and me have a great relationship, and so I obeyed. :)

Between light and dark, and between floods and droughts. I had some fun with the starlings on the lamp, and let me show you the changes in our day. Lately, we have been finding that the ants are far better weather forecasters than the human weather forecasters. The newspaper weather people seem to get their information from a different place to the radio's weather people, and both are so different to the place where the internet weather people get theirs. They get the temperatures, wind speeds, and rain forecasts wrong a large percentage of the time. Very strange. By listening or reading one of their forecasts, finds one sitting in the sun, and the next minute running for cover as the rain comes down. But they didn't say it was going to rain? Or the heavy gusts of wind, where did they come from when it was not predicted.

Oh, and a female Carpenter bee, as I love to show the beauty of smaller critters in nature. Not any bird, as this is a rare shot of a Paradise Fly-catcher in flight. Just look at those colors, and the long tail of this male.

...I will share more landscapes taken from the balcony at Waterkloof Wine Estate. I wish that you could stand up high while drinking in the beauty and breathing the fresh mountain air.We were limited for time, as we can only take short trips around the town for 1 hour, as then we have to be back. I would love a whole day to spend at this wine estate to explore and to hear the local stories. The estate has a top rating, and their wines are sold all over the world. Tourists that visit here even order their wine regularly to be sent to their homes in other countries.
