On Saturday my son and daughter took me for an adventure day. We still have about 20 days left in Amsterdam so they wanted to treat me to something different.
>Located out the back of the Artis Zoo is a large square in very close proximity to one of the larger bird enclosures, featuring a bunch of water fountains for kids to play around in during the summer, and the well known open air flamingo enclosure. Open until late at night you can take a stroll and pick up a coffee or drink from the onsite stand, and enjoy it while watching the flamingos playing around in the water GOOGLE
Flamingoes, ducks and birdsWe arrived at the zoo and immediately went to see the flamingoes. Eden and Lee had recently experienced these beautiful birds in Aruba in the Dutch Caribbean and wanted me to enjoy the experience.
We bought some coffee and settled down to watch them. It was so interesting to see the ducks swimming amongst them and the birds flying in and landing on them once or twice.
What elegant creatures

Great view and entertainment watching our feathered friends and enjoying a cappuccinoWe then decided we were quite hungry so walked around the bird area and then found a breakfast place called Box Sociaal
We ordered poached eggs with avocado and roshti. It was most delicious but very expensive. We sat upstairs.
cappaccino

Delicious coffee at LebkovAll in all this was a truly memorable outing with my adult kids and well worth the visit.
