If you give way to the flesh, then you are giving way to the unrighteous things that is in the world.
Ephesians 4:27 says don't give place to the devil.
For us to shine, let's not give opportunity to the flesh or all kind of wickedness and we should not use our liberty to give opportunity to flesh, if we do, our light will not shine.
If you are disobedience, you are not honoring God
Galatians 5:3 testify that every man (you and I) are circumcised, and we are a debtor to do the whole law.
But everytime we obey God, we would be free from sin.
We are called in freedom, we are already free, you are not under any master or any leader, you are no longer a slave, you are now servant of God.
Romans 6:22 says as we are now being made free from sin, and become servants of God, we have our fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
Servant of sin would keep commiting sin, where sin goes, he will go
Romans 6:16 is asking that don't you know that to whom you yield yourselves to as a servant you are to obey; whether you are a servant to sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
If you are a servant of God, do not forget who you serve, you would keep God's commandments, you would be obedient to God, not to sin anymore.
Romans 6:14 say sin shall not have dominion over you again because you are not under the law, but under grace.
It's God's commandment to attend gatherings but you attend gatherings doesn't mean you follow God, even spies attends gathering.
If any man obey God's commandments, he would follow God.
In John 12:26, Jesus says if any man serve Him, let him follow Him; and where He is, His servant shall be there: if any man serve Him, he will obey His Father honour.
Christ has power over His own house, so if you are servant of Christ or following Christ, you should be in the church because Christ is also there. Wherever Christ is, you should be there as well.
1 Timothy 3:15 But if I tarry long, that you may know how you have to behave yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
Ezra 7:23 Whatsoever it is that the God of heaven commanded, let it be done diligently for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?
If you are a worker of God, then you would follow the law of God.
1 Corinthians 3:9 say we are co-labourers together with God: we are husbandry the husbandry of God, we are the building of the God of heaven and the whole world.
It's a sin to disobey God and we won't shine if we sin against God.
Galatians 5:13 let us know that we have been called to freedom; but warned us not to use the liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love, to serve each another.
Whatever you do, do everything for the glory God.
St. Matthew 5:16 says Let your light so shine before every men, for them to see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
If you give chance to the flesh, then you are giving chance to bad things because flesh wound move to bad things, don't let the flesh control you, control flesh by yourself. If you want to shine for men to see, then don't give chance to the flesh, don't let flesh control you. If you are in condition of flesh, you aren't honouring God.
Since the death of Christ, we have liberty, freedom, we are called from the darkness to the light, not a slave or servant to devil again but to Jesus Christ, Christ of Christ is in vain for anyone that still live under sin.
Attending the gathering doesn't mean you are a servant of God or you obey God, the spies can go to gathering as well but if you really the commandments of God in your heart, you would obey God.
