It's not pride, and it's not self image. It's not me attempting to be greater than I am. It's not a command to adore me or bow at my feet. It's a basic request established in human goodness. Regard me. Talk to me like I'm human, not a issue to settle or a burden to bear. See me within the eye once you talk. Do not wave me off like I do not matter or conversation over me like my voice is fair clamor in your ears.
Regard isn't earned with perfection—it's owed by default, simply because I exist. You do not have to be like me to regard me. You do not have to be concur with me to regard me. We are able stand on distinctive sides of the street and still gesture as people, as souls, as equals within the travel.
