source: There were sounds that she couldn't understand for the Nest-Keeper. The soft ones could make the sounds with their strange round mouths. She wondered how they could exist without mandibles, though it was an idle, unspecific thought that she grouped together as a long list of othernesses the soft ones had. Though she recognized the differences, and somewhere deep inside she wondered at it, she still saw them as part of her Nest. Different, but useful. Likely not as intelligent as she was, what with their need to scurry about hither and tither all the time... but they weren't very long and only had two legs so it was reasonable that they would lack an understanding of the world.

Watch on 3SpeakI haven't set up OBS yet, so I'm uploading this first video without any commentary using the Steam video capture they've recently released. Apologies if anything is janky! So, I really want to get some new arms, legs, horns, or wings before I do much towards advancing our starting quests. I'm fairly familiar with both of the two initial quests, and this character is currently pretty weak on the attack and defense side of things. Most of their current skills and traits will shine more in the long run as passives that I don't need to acquire later.
The Caves beckon and a new explorer heeds their siren's call.I've been playing a bit of this lately, and thought it might be fun to whip up a new character for folks here to see. Caves of Qud is a science fantasy roguelike epic steeped in retrofuturism, deep simulation, and swathes of sentient plants. Come inhabit an exotic world and chisel through layers of thousand-year-old civilizations.
We introduced the kids to The Incredibles this weekend, and let me tell you: 6 and 4 are the right ages to introduce kids to Jack-Jack, Dash, and Violet. They had so much fun watching the kids get their powers and start being awesome, and the Short of 'Jack-Jack Attack!' had them roaring with laughter - which is the best way to spend an evening in the weekend.
January first means it's time to bust out the old 2024 journal, grab the new 2025 journal, and fill out some notes!Every year my wife and I spend a chunk of time on Jan 1st or 2nd looking back on the last year and writing out our highlights, lowlights, interesting things that happened, and our goals for the next year. We've done it since 2016 and it has been a lot of fun to look back at through the years.
