A story of a patient with Stage 4 Cancer.
This is a story of a patient that I knew two years ago. Along the years, she never had any sickness. Only complaint simple sickness like fever and cough. She lives a normal life, happy with her family and has a small businness. All her children have grown up and have their own family now.
After she reached her 60th birthday, she always complained of headache and sometimes feeling breathless. She never went to any clinic or hospital for a check up. She thought by just taking simple medicine can relieve her headache and that is okay already. Until one day, she had a prolong cough and phlegm until she can't breathe, her son brought her to the emergency hospital. All investigations had been done, they found out there is fluid in her lung. Immediately they managed her problem and after a few days she recovered, but she still difficult to breathe. She had a scan for her lungs and there they found out there is a tumor in her lungs. After biopsy done, she was diagnosed Stage 4 Lungs Cancer. It has spread to part of her brain. No wonder she always complaint the headache.

After they found out, she still has the courage and confident that she can fight the cancer, and she still will live for a few years more. Despite her condition to fight her sickness, she tries to live as normal as can be. The Doctor advices to go for chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
The problem came when her daughters refuse the treatment, and claimed she can cure her mom with this kind of medicine that can fight the growth of the cancer. Wow..such a very special medicine, right? So this patient has started the medicine, but the thing is, the patient was prohibited to eat rice, fish even meat. She only can eat fruits and the only carbs that she can eat is tapioca steam. So when looking into these diet, the patient probably will feel weak and tired and no energy. This has happened to that patient.

Everytime I visited her, I saw the changes of her condition. She became weak and weaker until she was admitted to palative ward. In the ward, her son let her eat normal food, and this makes her feel much more energetic and more alert. She is much more cheerful and Doctor let her home after a week in the ward.
Back to her home, her daughter resumed her diet again, and here she goes again with her weaknesses. Until one day, she was re-admitted again and only for one day in the ward, she passed away at dawn.
What we can learn from here is, in my opinion, if someone is already in the stage 4 cancer, don't let them become more suffer. Even though you still trying to find medicine to help them, that is not wrong, but try not to make them more burden. They already in pain and grieve that they have a serious health problem, so don't let them live with a suffering life anymore. Let them feel the moment of happy and enjoy with their family. Who knows this will make them live longer. Don't feel regret in future when your loved one has gone and that because of you.

I apologize if someone is almost in the same characters as my story today. I don't mean to, it is just my opinion of what I ever saw. What ever it is, don't regret to what had happened, because everything happens for a reason.
