The football season is gradually coming to an end, as it has been an incredible run in the top European leagues. Some leagues have already gotten their champion, while some are yet to be decided, like the La Liga and Serie A, which are the two leagues that have yet to get league winners. Speaking of La Liga, let's take a look at European champions Real Madrid, who are having A terrible season in all competitions this season. The Galacticos will finish this season without a trophy, which is unlike them, as they always leave with a trophy each season.
Real Madrid has suffered humiliation against FC Barcelona this season as they failed to win a single El Clasico match in the four times both clubs met this season. Barcelona's domination this season against Real Madrid is nothing many people expected from the Catalan side this season, but it just shows that with a manager who brings in the right motivation and tactics into a team, it is bound to have a positive effect on the team. Barcelona were close to reaching the UCL final, and I am sure if they had gotten to the final, they would have probably won the competition because Hansi Flick is yet to lose a final in his managerial career.
Real Madrid has started preparing for the next season, and one of the changes they have made is letting Ancelotti leave the club at the end of the season. It was a mutual agreement as Ancelotti will be the head coach for Brazil starting from June 1st, which is next month. Carlo Ancelotti is an incredible manager and has done an amazing job for Real Madrid during his years at the club. It is not rare to see a manager who coaches a team before leaving, then comes back again to coach that same club. Real Madrid has already gotten a replacement for Ancelotti to be the next manager of the club, and that individual is no one but Xabi Alonso, the former Liverpool and Real Madrid player. Xabi has been on the radar of Real Madrid since last season. Xabi was close to leaving Bayern Leverkusen last season, but changed his mind, and I am sure one of the reasons was because Real Madrid were not ready at that time to let Ancelotti leave the club, but Liverpool also tried to get Xabi, but the Spanish manager didn't accept their offer.
There is no doubt that Xabi is an incredible coach. The 2023/2024 season he had in the Bundesliga speaks highly of how good a manager Xabi Alonso is, which is why Real Madrid only wanted him and no one else to replace Ancelotti. Xabi will take his role as manager as soon as he is in charge of Real Madrid in the FIFA Club World Cup, which is expected to begin next month.
