Hey everyone! How's it going? It's been a while since I last posted here. I've been busy sorting out pre-employment requirements and moving out, leaving little time for anything else other than napping and playing a couple of games of League.

It was just another mundane day, much like any other. The computer screen stood before me, glaring back with the intensity of my favorite game, League of Legends. Nothing special planned, just another day in my routine. That was until I heard it, that all too familiar sound - ding!

"San mo gusto kumain?" (Where do you want to eat?)"Ikaw?" (You?)Familiar? Probably because most of us can't make up our minds so we answer a question with another question but I think that is not solely the reason why we respond this way most of the time. To me, "Ikaw" is one of the most romantic words in the Tagalog language. We care about the other person asking this question which is why we'd want to consider and prioritize their options over ours. We are interested to know their wants and needs. Ah sweet.

Last May 8, 2023, I found myself riding on the back of a van heading to Tagaytay. Arcmilla's family suddenly invited me to join them in celebrating one of the family member's birthday. I declined the first time they asked me since I didn't want to intrude on their intimate family event. However, Arc's mom insisted that I join, so I did.

I realized today how much I suck at being a daughter.Around 1 am today I craved my mom's breaded porkchop so I immediately messaged her on Facebook to tell her that I wanted this for lunch.Then it hit me.It was Mother's Day today and here I am barking orders at my mom.

The Philippines is a country rich in culture and traditions, and its reading culture is no different. Even in the face of poverty and development challenges, our schools still try to prioritize literature and reading comprehension starting at a young age, highlighting the important role that reading plays in our society.
