Soulbound cards can be purchased using Glint via Rarity Draws or Loot Chests. For the Rebellion set of soulbound cards, I decided to purchase cards using Rarity draws. The reasoning behind my decision was as follows. When the new soulbound set came out, my initial excitement was for Epic cards. My initial reaction to the Legendary cards is that they were underwhelming. Commons and Rares seemed decent. So I decided that I would make maxing out Epics my first priority. Then I would next focus on maxing out Rares and Commons. If there was enough time remaining before the next set is released, I would go after Legendaries. With the goal of just leveling them up to 1 or 2 because maxing them out is not a priority for my deck.
Back when I first played Splinterlands six years ago at the beginning of 2019, I searched for gameplay tutorials on Hive (Steemit back then). I still remember that one of the tutorials I found stressed the importance of speed in the game over and over again. Speed is an important part of strategy in the game just as long as you do not become obsessed with it. Many times good strong attacks and a sound strategy are just as important.
A brand new game mode format has been added to ranked play. In addition to Wild and Modern, there is now a third format known as Survival Mode. Just like in Wild, cards from all sets are allowed and both bots and human players are welcome. What sets this format apart is that there is no energy. Instead cards get placed on cooldown if they are defeated in battle.
There is currently a contest to create an infographic for Moonkarts. You can read about the details of the contest here: The deadline to submit an entry is March 4th. This post is my entry to the contest. First of all … Moonkarts is a 3D kart racing game built with the Unity Engine and secured on the Hive blockchain. It aims to be the flagship game of Arcade Colony as it is the first 3D game on Hive created by the team behind Splinterlands. The game has the potential to attract more gamers than most Hive games. It is probably best played using a controller (ex. XBOX 360) rather than keyboard. And also requires a bit higher PC specs than a simple auto-battler like Splinterlands.
Custom Card Sets can now be created in Splinterlands. This feature was one of the major changes included in the maintenance update a few days ago on 2/18/25. Sets in general are a recent addition as part of the New Player Experience. They make it possible for players to rent an entire deck/set of cards with just one click. Custom Card Sets can include any cards from any card expansion including soul bound cards. Though keep in mind that soul bound cards which have not been unbound cannot be rented.
Yesterday while tending to my land plots I could barely believe my eyes. I had just discovered a Legendary Totem Fragment. Just a few weeks ago @blewitt who is my guild leader as well as my king in Lonshire(119) was lucky enough to get a Legendary Totem Fragment. But he owns over 100 plots of land. I never thought that with my five plots I would ever be lucky enough to get a Legendary Totem Fragment.
