Hello dear #wip workers I have to confess, I am a splitter. In the middle of the wip challenge I am leaving the boat. Faithlessly I push the box with my wips under the desk and put a lid on it. I even turn out the light.

I was so full of hope and optimism, I really thought I would get it done. Motivated by @jonalyn2020's amazing crochet skirt or @blezyn's granny square top, @monica-ene's dresses or @clearartista doll and all the other amazing wips, I picked up my stripped sweater with the clear intent to sew in all yarn-ends. All of them. But no, it did not happen. I fear I am the world slowest yarn-end sewista.

Dear Needleworkers, envision this scene with your inner eye: its hot, the sun is blazing down on golden wheat fields. A soft warm wind is blowing over the landscape and birds are chirping joyfully. A small path is meandering besides a dark forest which lends a stark contrast to the wide and open fields. Amidst this peaceful setting a woman in a short black dress is dancing happily alongside her loving partner… and then… the sudden awakening. It’s Sunday and there are only 15 hours left to complete a wip, to complete anything to not loose every credibility in the @needleworkmonday community. Yep, that’s me :-DDD

It’s Monday: I had one week to try out tiny habits, nibble on an imprisoned wip, and then write a glorious blogpost about my success. Only that did not happen. Ok, the week happened I did not learn spontaneously to time-travel, but the rest, the rest did not happen. No habits, no dungeon wips, no nothing.

Do you now those times, when you attention shifts to a new art medium, and you start to obsessively research every available brand? I fell into this waterhole rabbit hole with watercolors. Roughly a month ago I was rejected from the Museum of Women (by the way, last week they changed their opinion, and I am in… hope they do not change back 🙏) and I picked up sketching in a tiny book to distract myself from this misery. I wanted to explore new paint mediums and wanted to work without the pressure to finish my normal bigger art projects. Just some lovely dabbling in color and lines.

One week two finished projects, that‘s what I promised. And? Do you think I have finished? SUSPENSEEEEEEE Yes, nearly. Both the Muru Kai shawl and the hexagon jacket are finished in knitting/crochet. The step which is still missing is sewing in the yarn ends, but even this I already started. While thinking about this progress and pondering how I will write about it I noticed how uninteresting it seems to simply finish a thing… without bigger hiccups, no drama... I simply got it done. No real topic for an interesting blogpost. Unless I discovered a secret method to get everything done under the blue sky. 😯
