One of the things I like about Linkin Park is that I really enjoy playing their songs, although it is true that technically they are not the most difficult, they have something that generate positive feelings in me beyond the lyrics of their songs, it's like a vibe that gives me satisfaction while I play the bass. This particular song belongs to the new album of the band called “From Zero” which generated a lot of controversy because after the death of Chester Bennington seemed that the band would disappear forever, we all know how fundamental his voice was to the sound of Linkin Park, but the band surprised us all with the accession of vocalist Emily Armstrong.
In particular I think these debates never have an end because ultimately everything is a matter of taste, you may or may not like the new vocalist, but that will always be your perception. At first it seemed strange to me, but little by little I understood why they chose her and I was adapting to the new sound of the voice, at the end of the day, the important thing is that the band kept their style at all times and that is what matters.
Una de las cosas que me gustan de Linkin Park es que disfruto mucho tocando sus canciones, sí bien es cierto que técnicamente no son de las más difíciles, tienen algo que generan sentimientos positivos en mi más allá de la letra de sus canciones, es como una vibra que me da satisfacción mientras ejecuto el bajo. Ésta canción en particular pertenece al nuevo álbum de la banda llamado “From Zero” el cual generó mucha polémica ya que luego de la muerte de Chester Bennington parecía que la banda desaparecería para siempre, todos sabemos lo fundamental que era su voz para el sonido de Linkin Park, pero la banda nos sorprendió a todos con la adhesión de la vocalista Emily Armstrong.
En lo particular creo que éstos debates nunca tienen un final ya que a fin de cuentas todo es cuestión de gustos, puede gustarte o no la nueva vocalista, pero esa siempre será tu percepción. A mí en principio me pareció raro, pero poco a poco fui entendiendo porque la eligieron y me fui adaptando al nuevo sonido de la voz, a fin de cuentas, lo importante es que la banda mantuvo su estilo en todo momento y eso es lo que importa.
To record this bass cover I downloaded the song from the band's official Youtube channel, then, I used the Moises application to remove the original bass line, that way I could record a completely clean line. I applied a couple of effects to give prominence to the bass since it is obviously the central element in my performances, but I tried not to overdo it in modifying the original sound previously recorded. I hope my presentation this week is to everyone's liking, I really like to humbly share my bass covers with the community, best regards!
Para grabar éste cover de bajo descargué la canción del canal oficial de Youtube de la banda, luego, usé la aplicación Moises para eliminar la línea de bajo original, de esa forma pude grabar una línea completamente limpia. Apliqué un par de efectos para dar protagonismo al bajo ya que evidentemente es el elemento central en mis presentaciones, pero traté de no exagerar en modificar el sonido original previamente grabado. Espero que mi presentación de ésta semana sea del agrado de todos, de verdad me gusta compartir humildemente mis covers de bajo con la comunidad. ¡Un fuerte abrazo!
