Naughty Childhood Memories| Hive-Naija Weekly Prompt

(69)in#hive-11060

Compliments of the season, dear friends. #Hive-naija is making me remember those days when I engaged in some very naughty behaviors. Like every child who grew up in communities where healthy competition existed among the children, I grew up to be the best version of myself. In this post, I will make sure to bring to memory some very enjoyable read for you, my friends. Childhood is the best season for every individual. It is a time when you have little or no responsibility at all. All you do is play, eat, sleep, go to school and whatnot. I still remember vividly as I write this post, some funny engagement or attitudes I put up during those times. Come with me as I share some.

Refusal To Share

Don't just offend me. If you do, I won't share my stuff with you. I look back and see that when a friend brings his Nintendo game and plays it back to back without sharing it with me, I pay such a friend in the same coin. My parents purchase games for us to be good children, especially with our academics and when those games come, we fly them for our classmates or neighbors to see. The game becomes an idol that no one dares to touch.
Apart from these games, I don't share my food or snacks with anyone. This attitude I imbibed from one of my selfish classmates. She would spit saliva into her food so that everyone would get irritated and steer clear of her.
Now, I know better. I love to share my stuff with people around me who need it. That is what life has taught me to do over time.

Hiding and Lying

When I was a child, I feared being punished even when I did wrong. So, to avoid the pain of being punished, I usually resorted to lying to hide my misdeeds. My dad was a disciplinarian and sometimes, my mom would support her all the way and the consequence of any wrongdoing could be damning.

One of the things I did back then was to hide my wet clothes each time I bed-wetted. Back in the day, every playful child like me usually pee on the bed at night. It would appear that one was easing himself in the lavatory while dreaming and before you knew it, the whole mattress was wet. Jeez! That feeling after you find out that you have messed up is nostalgic. To get away with that crime (natural crime though), I would wake up in the middle of the night to change my dress and push my younger brother or sister into the pee just to cover up my tract. What a life!!

Attention Seeking

Have you ever been in a situation that looks like between the devil and the deep blue sea? That is what it felt back to them when my parents would announce that during the weekend we would all be going to the farm. Out of sheer laziness, I would begin to feel like I was sick in the night, only that I could be spared from joining the rest of the family from going to the farm.
Mother would have to stay back to see that I recovered. But in an actual sense, I was never sick, it was just acting up.

At school, another scenario usually played out and it was usually led by my female classmates. There was a particularly beautiful Hausa babe in my class that other male students from other classes would come to chase. Her name is Ramotu Gambo and I can tell you for free that she was quite a beautiful piece of nature but vet black. Despite that we were in the same class, she doesn't look my way.

Most often, I would do stuff to call attention but she was never attracted until I started learning music when I observed that she loves RnB and rap music. I had to learn all the latest RnBs like Joe, Maria Carey, Celine Dion, West Life and rap music from Dr Dre, Fat Joe, Eminem, Tupac Amaru Shakur and many others. It even got to the extent that I became the school-miming team leader. All because of that Hausa babe. Each time I look back and remember all those activities I smile and laugh out so loud.
Seriously, childhood was a lot of fun for me. It wasn't a bed of roses but these were part of those activities I engaged in that I bonded with.
