Sunday is always the special day for breakfast Brunch here. And with that comes a tiny little more effort into the bread i make...
So here you gonna find the quick guide to a bread you better make enough, because it wont last until Tuesday, say not even Monday often enough.
The recipe goes like this...
- 1 kg of Flour ( half wheat, half spelt - if possible)
- 10 gr Baking Yeast
- 1 ts Salt
- 1 cs Sugar
- 0.6 lt of Milkwater (50:50)
- 50 gr of melted Butter
Then knead everything together for at least 10 minutes. Let the dough rest in a warm spot for two hours and it will double in size.
Make three strands, braid them into a loaf and let it rest again, this time for about 30 minutes. Just about the time to heat the oven.
Before you put the braid in the oven, brush it with egg yolk.
Now, at least 40 minutes
@ 200°C. Though as usual that depends quite a lot on the oven you use.
Now comes the crucial and most important part of the whole process...
When you take the bread out of the oven to let it rest until it's at least only Lukewarm, defend it against everyone wanting to cut a piece and eat it warm, especially yourself. š You may laugh now... but you'll see. Hehe!
When the time comes, eat it with some fruit marmalade... though it goes also with some ham and cheese. Or egg and bacon... š
Have fun baking this typical Sunday Brunch Bread and may make a Sandwich with it for the
Club of Sandwiches. That would definitely be appreciated!
