Flowers can be quite beautiful to look at in full bloom. I can almost smell these ones, as I remember catching a whiff of the aroma walking by is what caused me to pause and turn around. That moment made me appreciate that they were only here for a short time and that I needed to take the time to capture their splendor so that even years later the memory of that aroma comes back.

This lone little bird was on my lawn. I have seen them before, and they seem to come around once per year. It spent quite a bit of time foraging around. I was able to observe it for about 15 minutes, waiting for it to get a bit closer to the light so I could get a better view. It briefly touched where the sunlight was, and I was able to get a bit more detail.

From cosplayers to plainclothes people to police officers, everyone loves a cosplay parade! With so many different elements to pop culture, it's a great time for people to come and celebrate it all. When you think how many decades and generations of people have grown up with things like Star Wars and Batman, it really does bring out the big kid in everyone being able to have a taste of this in real life.

This Iceman minifigure was interesting to shoot due to the translucence as well as the blue. With the blue color, I could lean a bit into using a cooler color temperature. I also realized that using the darker greyish brick background, this minifigure would stand out a bit more. This one comes with a surfboard-style piece to stand on, which is supposed to represent the ice bridge that Iceman creates to move around. It could have been shaped a bit differently to not look like a surfboard, but it did give me something to use for posing.

My latest attempts at eyeball photography. These are my own eyes. In the past I have attempted these types of shots numerous times. It used to take 100 attempts or more just to get a few that worked. The plus side is that with my Nikon Z8 I can get 3 shots like this, and it only took about a dozen tries. The next thing I need to figure out is how to light my eyes properly without blinding myself. Now that I don't have to take as many shots for this, that might be even more achievable.

I seem to encounter these Canada geese pretty frequently. This one had just emerged from the water and was pecking away at the grass as it walked around. It was getting near sunset, so golden light created a nice effect as it shone off the grass. I would have to say that anywhere in the city I go, I am sure I can spot a goose somewhere.
