If you thought you couldn't explore all the continents in one walk and see the flora of all those places, I am sorry but I have to tell you that you are wrong. There is a place where you can see the trees, shrubs, and other plants of America, Asia, Africa, Oceania, and Europe in just one walk. That place is located in Malaga, actually in Botanical Garden La Concepciรณn.
We have already walked around here, remember? And I told you it was a huge garden, so I had to divide the sections of that place into several posts. Today we are walking the part of the route called Around the World in 80 Trees.

It started here, where the Administrator's House is. Once, I showed you an exhibition from one of its halls. There were two of these halls, in the second one there was an interesting exhibition about plants but I didn't take more photos of it, leaving that task to my husband who was with me on this walk.

Next to the Administrator's House, we saw another, smaller building, whose name in translation to English is Little House of Cypresses. Casita in Spanish (little house), but it was as charming as the big building with its exhibition halls. Now from here, we indeed start our walk around the world!

An interesting fact that can be read in this board is that every tree planted here is assigned to a child who is responsible for taking care of it. And indeed, by the names of the trees, on the little plaques by each of them, there was also a name of a person. We can also read that the path is only 400 metres long (it seemed longer, as we stopped many times to read the names of the plants) but that apart from 80 trees we can find also bushes, herbaceous plants and climbers.

It started with the continent of America. Now, while transferring the photos to my laptop, many of the photos got out of order, so I am sorry if any trees appear out of place. ๐
The paths were more or less the same, wide, in some parts there were benches to rest if you needed and around the paths we saw the flora, properly labelled with their names.

It is also interesting to think about the variety of so many different species of trees that grow around the world. Maybe once, millions of years ago, if the theory of Pangaea is certain, they all lived in one continent (supercontinent). When it broke up, the plants and animals who found themselves in separated continents developed into different, unique species. How and in what the flora and fauna developed also depended on climate and soil composition. These were very important factors that for sure affected all the species. Hey - that is history now, and we are not in a lesson, but on a walk! It is anyway interesting to think about it.

I hope you are still not tired from the walk - we still have a few continents to walk through haha. But walking among trees has its benefits so I hope you also enjoy this Wednesday walk. Apart from doing physical activity, being surrounded by trees is good for our mental health, we can breathe fresh air and clean oxygen and escape from the city centre and concrete. Well, I like the city too, and Malaga for sure is awesome, but balance is always needed.

I didn't expect I could jump to Oceania too, just with our trip to Malaga at the beginning of this year. That is quite far away from Spain. ๐

During our tour, we also came across an aqueduct that appears to have been built in the 18th century. The board indicates that it was one of the most important hydraulic engineering works of that era in Spain.

One of the nicest spots in my opinion was the path surrounded by these palm trees. This part of the route is simply called the Collection of Palm Trees. The name already is attractive to me! ๐

Looking again towards the sky. ๐

Once we stepped out of the world of the palm trees we were back to the regular path and I think the tour around the world in 80 trees finished there. We still had a few interesting paths to visit in this botanical garden... I can say that the citizens of Malaga are lucky to have this place close to the city, and even visit so many remote places just in one walk! ๐ฟ
