I continue to be a bit obsessed with flowers and shades of green and orange. Sometimes I try to doodle something other than a flower, but I always end up making patterns that lead me to these same shapes. This time I documented the step-by-step of a simple Zentagle pattern, but which amazingly took me longer than I imagined.
Comencé haciendo un cuadrado grande que luego segmenté en ocho cuadrados tratando que quedaran lo más simétricos posibles. Esos cuadrados servirían como mis lineas guías para dibujar los pétalos que, cabe destacar, no importa si no quedan 100% simétricos pues más adelante la forma se corregirá un poco. Delineé los pétalos con un marcador negro de punta 0,7 mm y luego los coloreé con dos tonalidades de naranja. En esta ocasión usé la tonalidad #14 Vermilion y la #22 French Vermilion para lograr el degradado del color.
I started by making a large square that I then segmented into eight squares trying to make them as symmetrical as possible. Those squares would serve as my guide lines to draw the petals which, it is important to note, it doesn't matter if they are not 100% symmetrical because later the shape will be corrected a little. I outlined the petals with a 0.7 mm black marker and then colored them with two shades of orange. This time I used #14 Vermilion and #22 French Vermilion to achieve the color gradient.

Next, I filled in the background with the shades of green #46 Vivid Green and #61 Peacock Green. Then with the 0.3 mm tip black marker I started to make the inner strokes of the orange petals and then fill in the spaces. The last step was to draw something like leaves in the green area and then fill in the spaces as well.
El resultado estuvo mejor de lo que esperé. La forma me agradó, porque me recuerda muchísimo a algunas formas que puedes observar através de los caleidoscopios. Además de que por fin le atino a un tono de naranja que me haga quedar conforme.

The result was better than I expected. I liked the shape, because it reminds me a lot of some of the shapes that you can see through kaleidoscopes. Besides, I finally found a shade of orange that makes me happy.
