Un afectuoso saludo, hivers de esta comunidad. Hace días que quiero referirme a la razón por la que elegí mi nombre de usuario, particularidades y significado.
Primeramente, les diré por qué
@marpasífico con “S” y no con “C” como es correcto.
Me tomo esa libertad, para destacar en medio de la palabra, un “SI” que trasmitiese un mensaje positivo, de reafirmación y progreso, que identifique mi actitud ante la vida, una “S” desafiante, atrevida, sin responder a reglas que la subyuguen. Ahora corresponde decir por qué la elección del nombre.
El mar pacífico es la flor que identifica a mi ciudad, Florida de Cuba desde que fue declarada como termino municipal el 15 de diciembre de 1924.
Caminar por sus calles y encontrar en sus parques, plazas y jardines esta flor, era cotidianidad para sus habitantes, cuál no sería mi sorpresa, al surgir mi interés de publicar este post, desandar, por varios días y no encontrar una sola planta de la sencilla, hermosa y resistente flor.
La conozco en diferentes tonalidades, rosadas, blancas, amarillas y rojas, la que mas abunda y para mi, la más hermosa.
Ayer, viajaba de regreso desde la capital de todos los cubanos hacia mi provincia, en el trayecto el ómnibus realizo una parada prolongada para almorzar en un restaurante campestre a las afueras de Majagua, comunidad que pertenece a la provincia de Ciego de Ávila, les pido disculpas amigos míos, por no proporcionarles el nombre del restaurante, es que otro detalle acaparó mi atención.
Cual no seria mi sorpresa al entrar al baño para damas y descubrir encima del tanque de descargue del sanitario ¡un marpacífico! le solicité a mi compañera de viaje me alcanzara mi móvil, ella entre risueña y sorprendida me preguntó para qué necesitaba el teléfono en ese lugar, abrí la puerta y le mostré la flor.
La amiga me respondió, “con la premura no observaste el entorno, te sorprenderás cuando salgas” . Tenía razón todo estaba adornado de esas flores.
Cuando las personas viajan de oriente a occidente por carretera, al territorio floridano, encuentra una obra arquitectónica que lo delimita con Camagüey, municipio cabecera, diseñado por el artista de la plástica Alexander Rodríguez Falcón, la asesoría técnica de la arq. Ángela Rodríguez y ejecutada por los artistas del Proyecto Huellas Azules.
No voy a mostrarles la imagen, ya que personas con poder de decisión, pero sin el menor conocimiento de arte en total falta de respeto al creador, le aplicaron colores de manera indiscriminada y carente de belleza.
Esta obra tridimensional, su elemento significativo son los marpacíficos, A cambio les ofrezco una réplica creada por el artesano Ángel Alfredo Figueredo Ramírez, confeccionada con recortaría de madera y coco, técnica de misceláneas.
Este souvenir es muy demandado por visitantes extranjeros y viajeros nacionales, así como de obsequio a visitantes de relevancia a nuestra ciudad.
Creo es hora de pensar en un proyecto con sentido de pertenencia, que devuelva a Florida su entono de marpacíficos.

I'm taking this liberty to emphasize a "YES" in the middle of the word, conveying a positive message of affirmation and progress, one that identifies my attitude toward life, a defiant, daring "S," unresponsive to rules that subjugate it. Now it's time to explain why I chose the name.
The Pacific Ocean is the flower that has identified my city, Florida de Cuba, since it was declared a municipal area on December 15, 1924.
Walking through its streets and finding this flower in its parks, plazas, and gardens was a daily occurrence for its inhabitants. What a surprise, when my interest in publishing this post arose, I retraced my steps for several days and couldn't find a single plant of this simple, beautiful, and resilient flower.
I know it in different shades: pink, white, yellow, and red, the most abundant and, for me, the most beautiful.
Yesterday, I was traveling back from the capital of all Cubans to my province. On the way, the bus made a long stop for lunch at a country restaurant on the outskirts of Majagua, a community in the province of Ciego de Ávila. I apologize, my friends, for not providing the name of the restaurant; another detail caught my attention.
What a surprise when I entered the women's restroom and discovered a Pacific Rim flamingo on top of the toilet flush tank! I asked my traveling companion to hand me my cell phone. She, half-smiling and half-surprised, asked me what I needed the phone for in that place. I opened the door and showed her the flower.
My friend replied, "You didn't notice your surroundings in your haste; you'll be surprised when you get out." She was right; everything was adorned with those flowers.
When people travel from east to west by road, they come across an architectural work that marks the border with Camagüey, the capital municipality. It was designed by visual artist Alexander Rodríguez Falcón, with technical advice from architect Ángela Rodríguez, and executed by the artists of the Blue Footprints Project.
I'm not going to show you the image, since people with decision-making power, but without the slightest knowledge of art, and with a total lack of respect for the creator, applied colors indiscriminately and lacking in beauty.
This three-dimensional work, its significant element being the Pacific Rim whales. In exchange, I offer you a replica created by artisan Ángel Alfredo Figueredo Ramírez, made with wood and coconut cutouts, a miscellaneous technique.
This souvenir is in high demand by foreign visitors and domestic travelers, as well as as a gift to important visitors to our city.
I think it's time to consider a project with a sense of belonging, one that will restore Florida's Pacific Ocean setting.
