Les cuento que el pasado día 14 de marzo crucé, en compañía de una amiga, de un extremo a otro toda la plaza vieja de la Habana, el objetivo, entrar a Factoría y probar una cerveza artesanal hecha con tecnología austriaca pero bien cubana.
Una vez que ingresamos en el local situado en la calle San Ignacio esq. a Muralla renunciamos a nuestro propósito.
La primera impresión negativa la ofreció el aspecto “descuidado” de la empleada que nos recibió, los baños, aunque limpios por algún motivo olían desagradable.
Los pocos clientes tenían el desaliento reflejado en su expresión y unas jarras mal llenas de una bebida pálida.
Nos disponíamos a abandonar el lugar cuando vi un Ford de la década del veinte y no resistí posar frente al singular vehículo, traté de buscar mayor información ¿Para que se utilizaba? ¿Por qué estaba allí? En fin no sé si era desconocimiento o que yo era turista nacional, pero no pude saber nada más
Es una pena, un lugar con historia, tanto el inmueble, antigua vivienda del marqués de Casa Torres y donde habitó uno de los más destacados defensores de la ciudad ante el ataque inglés en 1762 y convertido desde el 2003 en un centro de tradición y cultura con sorprendente flujo del turismo, tenga ese decadente aspecto de vulgar taberna.
Sali de Factoría convencida que la cerveza es una bebida demasiado amarga. Asumiría, aptitud de abstinencia total. La elección de mi posición me duró solamente lo que demora recorrer media cuadra.
En la acera de enfrente a una tarja que dice “Casa de Zamora” hay un punto de venta de una mipyme ¡Había de mi cerveza favorita a un precio menor que en otros lugares!
Mi amiga y yo compramos unas cuantas “CRISTAL” y las llevamos para compartir con el resto del grupo que esperaban en el ómnibus.
Quiero decirles, aunque tengo preferencia por la “CRISTAL”, consumo cualquier marca, que no esté adulterada, lo fundamental es las circunstancias, los factores que acompañen a la cerveza.
Quizás en otro momento les hable de la exclusividad que busco para tomarme, una cerveza.
Por lo pronto les diré, que suelo alternar, con el placer de degustar la preciada bebida, el de tener una interesante conversación o mi adicción por los libros.
No me gusta consumir la cerveza en su envase original, siempre solicito un recipiente diferente y la disfruto más, sobre todo si recién he presentado un libro.
Cuando tengo a mano envases, como los de la foto que muestro al final, entonces todo cambia.
Va en esas cerezas la mezcla de tanto amor y gratitud que su sabor es totalmente dulce.

I'd like to tell you that on March 14th, I walked with a friend from one end of Havana's Plaza Vieja to the other. The goal was to enter Factoría and try a craft beer made with Austrian technology but truly Cuban.
Once we entered the establishment located on San Ignacio Street and Muralla Street, we abandoned our plan.
The first negative impression was the "sloppy" appearance of the employee who greeted us. The bathrooms, although clean for some reason, smelled unpleasant.
The few customers had a look of dismay reflected in their expressions and half-filled pitchers of a pale beverage.
We were about to leave when I saw a Ford from the 1920s, and I couldn't resist posing in front of the unique vehicle. I tried to find out more. What was it used for? Why was it there? Anyway, I don't know if it was due to ignorance or because I was a domestic tourist, but I couldn't find out anything else.
It's a shame; a place steeped in history, so much so that the building—the former home of the Marquis of Casa Torres, where one of the city's most distinguished defenders against the English attack in 1762 lived, and since 2003, converted into a center of cultural tradition with a surprising influx of tourists—has that decadent appearance of a vulgar tavern.
I left Factoría convinced that beer is too bitter a drink. I would assume, the aptitude for total abstinence. My choice of position lasted only as long as it takes to walk half a block.
On the sidewalk across from a sign that says "Casa de Zamora" is a small and medium-sized business. There was my favorite beer at a lower price than other places!
My friend and I bought a few "CRISTAL" and took them to share with the rest of the group waiting on the bus.
I want to tell you, although I prefer "CRISTAL," I'll drink any brand, as long as it's not adulterated. The key is the circumstances, the factors that accompany the beer.
Perhaps another time I'll tell you about the exclusivity I seek when drinking a beer.
For now, I'll tell you that I usually alternate the pleasure of enjoying this precious beverage with having an interesting conversation or my addiction to books.
I don't like to drink beer in its original container; I always request a different container and I enjoy it more, especially if I've just launched a book.
When I have containers on hand, like the ones in the photo at the end, everything changes.
Those cherries contain a mixture of so much love and gratitude that their flavor is utterly sweet.
