Hello yarn and needle lovers, we are back with one more #needleworkmonday with a new knitting adventure.
Les cuento, tengo el algoritmo de mis redes sociales bastante alterado por mis amigas que me envían muchas cositas hermosas que en algún momento seré capaz de realizar; una noche de esas que solo pasas los vídeos sin sentido particular, encontré muchas flores bonitas, fui al grupo de WhatsApp y les pregunté por sus flores favoritas. Sé que es un reto, pero siento que tendrá sentido dedicarle una linda y esponjosa flor mientras aprendo a leer patrones y practicar los puntos.
I tell you, I have the algorithm of my social networks quite altered by my friends who send me many beautiful little things that at some point I will be able to perform; one night of those that you just pass the videos with no particular sense, I found many beautiful flowers, I went to the WhatsApp group and asked them for their favorite flowers. I know it's a challenge, but I feel it will make sense to dedicate a cute fluffy flower while I learn to read patterns and practice stitches.
Pensé que iniciar este proyecto con un girasol sería bastante sencillo (spoiler: lloré un poquito 🥲). Busqué mis hilos amarillo; el café que tenía era bastante claro, pero aun así lo utilicé. Con este último comencé a realizar el anillo mágico de 5 puntos bajos para iniciar; esto ya lo domino, una serie de dobles puntos bajos y la siguiente vuelta, un punto bajo y un aumento, una última vuelta de puros puntos bajos. Hasta aquí todo va muy bien.
I thought starting this project with a sunflower would be pretty straight forward (spoiler: I cried a little bit 🥲). I looked for my yellow yarns; the brown one I had was pretty light, but I still used it. With the latter I started making the magic ring of 5 low stitches to start; this I've mastered, a series of double low stitches and the next round, a low stitch and an increase, a last round of pure low stitches. So far so good.
Un poco de caos inició cuando comencé con los pétalos. Oh, oh, se acabaron los puntos bajos. Al principio no entendía el patrón, así que todo me salía muy mal. Se suponía que la idea de tejer era relajarme y sentirme contenta y no estaba pasando; pero siempre es bueno cuando comienza la frustración recordar por qué iniciamos ese camino. Sigo recordando que el crecimiento no es lineal, aún cuando se trata de mi hobby.
A bit of chaos started when I started with the petals. Oh, oh, no more low stitches. At first I didn't understand the pattern, so everything was going very wrong. The idea of knitting was supposed to be to relax and feel content and it wasn't happening; but it's always good when frustration starts to set in to remember why we started down that path. I keep reminding myself that growth is not linear, even when it's my hobby.
Salí a tomar aire fresco, fui por un café y con la mente despejada, regresé a donde iniciamos, a Tiktok 🙈. Busqué el modelo,conseguí un tutorial que me gustó mucho más y regresé una vez más a un anillo mágico, pero de color verde y este se unía al marrón con los pétalos de la flor, iniciando con 3 cadenas, un punto doble alto, subiendo 2 cadenas para hacer un punto picot, un punto alto en el mismo inicio del anterior y luego un punto bajo en el punto continuo. Para mí sorpresa tuve mi primera victoria que me animó. Regresar sobre tus pasos ayuda a rectificar y a continuar con más sabiduría y entendimiento de lo que estoy haciendo.
Entusiasmada, en un abrir y cerrar de ojos terminé el último punto raso para tener un lindo girasol 🥰🌻.
I went out for some fresh air, went for a coffee and with a clear mind, went back to where we started, to Tiktok 🙈. I looked up the pattern,got a tutorial that I liked a lot more and went back once again to a magic ring, but in green color and this one joined the brown one with the flower petals, starting with 3 chains, a double high stitch, going up 2 chains to make a picot stitch, a high stitch in the same beginning of the previous one and then a low stitch in the continuous stitch. To my surprise I had my first victory which cheered me up. Retracing your steps helps to rectify and continue with more wisdom and understanding of what I am doing.
Excited, in the blink of an eye I finished the last single crochet to have a nice sunflower 🥰🌻.
El entusiasmo me llevó a animarme a realizar una hojita; cabe destacar que el hilo verde es estambre, pues no había considerado tener ese color en mi colección. Creo que le perdí el miedo a los puntos altos y fui más feliz al atravesar el anillo mágico posterior con un limpiapipas o palito de chenille y ver que mi girasol se mueve como si fuera uno real. Creo que seguiré perfeccionando esta florecita, pues me encantó el resultado después de pasar tanto.
The enthusiasm led me to make a little leaf; it is worth mentioning that the green thread is worsted, as I had not considered having that color in my collection. I think I lost my fear of the high stitches and I was happier to go through the magic ring with a pipe cleaner or chenille stick and see that my sunflower moves as if it were a real one. I think I will continue to perfect this little flower, as I loved the result after spending so much.
