A DAY SURROUNDED BY BLUE: CEBU OCEAN PARK DIARY

Cebu Ocean Park is more than the sea. It’s a space filled with ocean blues, vibrant birds, and rare creatures from different parts of the world. Every corner holds a quiet sense of wonder, turning our visit into moments we’ll always remember.

Hello everyone, it's me again @lorene08 back with another fin-tastic blog to share!! It's been a while isn't it? And without further ado, here begins my Cebu Ocean Park Diary

January 4, 2026
We arrived early at Cebu Ocean Park at 10:59 a.m. We went there right after having breakfast.

When we arrived, the bus stopped in front of SM Seaside Cebu. We only walked for about a minute before reaching our destination. I was welcomed by a very big area with lots of beautiful designs. We went to the ticket area and, as far as I remember, the ticket cost around 900–1,000 pesos. (I think there are more expensive tickets if you want to feed some animals inside, but I’m not sure.) Tickets are also cheaper on weekdays compared to weekends.

Upon entering, guests are welcomed by big mascots like penguins and more, but I didn’t take pictures with them.

We were then welcomed by a place filled with the chirping of birds and some aquatic animals inside a not-so-big fish tank.

There was also an area where you could take aesthetic pictures because the walkway and background looked really nice.

As we went deeper inside the Ocean Park, we saw two iguanas. They were huge, but I found them cute—especially the other one because it was super nonchalant. It looked like a statue because it really didn’t move at all!

A little ahead of the iguana cage, there were more cages lined up with different species inside. Some animals were visible to my eyes and camera, while others were probably hiding.
IMG_8533.jpeg

As we were leaving that line of cages, I saw a huge yellow snake that really creeped me out. I literally got goosebumps when I saw how big the snake was.
IMG_7152.jpeg

Then I saw some cute hamsters. They were so adorable, but they kind of looked sad or scared. I’m not sure, maybe that’s just how they look.
IMG_8534.jpeg

I also saw another very interesting species. It was my first time seeing one, and I thought it was cool because it looked like fruit hanging on a tree — the green tree python.

To go to the second floor, we had to ride an escalator. Honestly, this area was one of my favorites in the Ocean Park because the background was very aesthetic and Instagrammable.
IMG_7172.jpeg

When you arrive on the second floor, you immediately enter an area full of birds called Blue-capped Lories. They were so adorable and silly at the same time, and very colorful too!
IMG_7178.jpeg

We went to another floor, and this area was more focused on cute fish — different species of fish. We even found the tank of the famous fish from Finding Dory, and they were so cute!

When you exit that area, it leads you directly to an open space. There was a pool for other types of fish and also a snack area. My cousin and I bought ice cream.

While exploring, we saw a big crocodile! It was my first time seeing a crocodile in person and that close, so I got scared.
IMG_7422.jpeg

Since it was almost 12 p.m., there was a bird show, so we grabbed the opportunity and watched it. The area was full of people — from elderly, to teenagers, to babies. The birds were super cute, and I loved how smart they were (they’re smarter than me lol). I was amazed at how well they were trained. I think I saw almost all kinds of birds there — small, medium, and big ones!

After the show, we went inside the main tank where you can see many kinds of big fish. I didn’t get to take pictures because it was very crowded when we went in. But near the exit, we found a very aesthetic area near the Ocean Park restaurant with glowing jellyfish. They looked like they were glowing in the dark! We took pictures there because there was also a big mirror beside it.

IMG_7295.jpeg

Even the exit was cool because the walls were painted and glowed in the dark — very aesthetic!
IMG_7302.jpeg

Before you can fully exit, you also pass by the penguin area where you can feed them. After that, it leads to the souvenir shop filled with stuffed toys, shirts, toys, and other Cebu Ocean Park souvenirs you can buy. I didn’t buy anything because some were expensive, though there were also affordable ones — my money just wasn’t enough.
IMG_8537.jpeg

And that ends my Cebu Ocean Park diary, guys! If you ask me if it was worth it, I’d say it was kind of worth it because I still enjoyed it. But the most worth-it part for me was the bird show.

If you’re planning to go to Cebu Ocean Park, it’s better to go when the shows are about to start — like the bird show and the main tank fish feeding show.

That’s all, everyone. Thank you for reading, and see you in the last part of my Cebu City blog!
