Ive been messing around with various AI applications. By now everyones used ChatGPT and for most part its extremely easy to use. When it comes to AI that generates images that is less so the case.
You could say that makes it more fun. Theres a learning curve and each step gets more and more rewarding.
I used a few image generators like the base Stable diffusion 2.0 on Playground AI and more recently im using Midjourney AI. It works as a discord bot and has it own preset parameters that make it much easier to work with than Stable Diffusion.
Considering it costs $10 USD a month I needed to justify paying that amount in some way. Even if its a bad justification that only serves to lie to myself that I'm not paying for a toy.
The justification:
Midjourney will help me increase the quality of my tweets and help me achieve my goal of 1 million followers on Twitter. 😂
I did buy Twitter blue yesterday and I'm waiting for the approval right now. Im going to be big on Twitter, I tell ya. Very big.
I found a cool way to use both ChatGPT and Midjourney in tandem. For example, the latest tweet I wrote:
- I wrote the tweet.
- I input the text into ChatGPT and told it to write me a prompt for an image, for Midjourney AI, based on the context of the tweet.
- I input the prompt into Midjourney.
- Viola.
The output really does work well with the tweet if you think about it. Youre walking through the open gate. Crossing the bridge into the decentralized future. Future is bright.
I know its just a tweet, who cares, but it does add to content quality quite a bit.
Then you have my Hive posts. I like using graphics and images that fit into the context of the post and using stock footage feels kind of cheap. This way I can have the text inform the imagery which is pretty cool.
Lets try that right now with some text about Hive I found:
The Hive blockchain is a fast, feeless, scalable solution for a decentralized web built and owned by the community with no company, CEO, founder or presale. Hive is a battle tested network that has risen and thrived by tackling the most pressing problems in web3.
The prompt ChatGPT gave me based on this text:
Generate an image of a ship navigating through rough waters, symbolizing the Hive blockchain's adventurous spirit in tackling the difficult problems of web3. Use a bold and kinetic style like that of Ashley Wood.
The result:
Pretty great. Ofc, the style of the artist (Asley Wood in this case) mentioned affects the output in a big way. Your explanation determines the topic of the image and the artist mentioned greatly affects the look of it.
