Hello Splinterlands Summoners. Last week, another season has ended and it also coincided with our brawl. As usual, I got new cards from reward chests and Gladius cases. These are cards that I acquire simply from playing the game and it rewards me with new assets to make my collection stronger.
Guild Brawl
After our guild brawl, I bought three Gladius cases. I haven't been lucky in the past weeks so my expectations were low when I bought another set of Gladius cases. I was simply expecting to add and upgrade my low level cards when I got a nice surprise.
A gold foil legendary card! My second gold foil Fina Voxom. I can now level up my Fina to level three giving her the Stun ability making her crazy strong. At level three she deals four melee damage, is fast with four speed and has seven health. She can hit anywhere with her Opportunity ability, can penetrate armor with Piercing and has the Bloodlust ability common to all Gladiator cards. With the added Stun ability, she's not only an offensive weapon, she can debuff the enemy as well by making them lose turns.
This has been a great pull so far and my legendary Gladiator card collection is almost complete. I'm just missing Tatiana Blayde and I'm hoping to get her soon.
End of Season Rewards
At the end of season, I had over 100k Glints and I used it to purchase three legendary reward chests for 105k Glints. I'm already happy with my common, rare and epic collection so now I'm building my legendary reward cards. Here's what I got from my three reward chests:
Three BCX of Syrenth all at once. This is great since this means that I can already upgrade her to level 2. At level 1, Syrenth has nice stats dealing four ranged damage and has eight health. She is ideal to play in the backline with her Taunt ability and team her up with a unit with Triage to heal her. At level 2 she an armor, health and the Dodge ability raising her defense and sustainability. Syrenth has the stats and abilities to fulfill her role well in the team. On the other hand, she needs nine mana to field in battle so she will be optimal in high mana battles.
Featured Battle - Fina does not disappoint
I couldn't wait to try my upgraded Fina so I chose the Fire Splinter when the chance came. The ruleset includes "Are you not entertained?" which allows players to pick one Gladiator card and of course I immediately chose Fina and built a team around her.
My opponent used Franz Ruffmane so he has two Gladiator cards in his lineup because of Franz's Conscript ability. My opponent has Marisol Contuma, a great card in second position and Sola Ranjell, a legendary healer card.
My tank got eliminated first but Fina made her first kill, triggering her Bloodlust ability. Another one of my card got eliminated but Fina just kept destroying the opponent cards and triggered her Bloodlust multiple times. By my count, she alone eliminated five out of six enemy cards.
