While it has been relatively warm thanks to El Nino weather phenomenon, winter arrived with a fury last night. Blustery cold weather moved down from the north in what the media dramatically calls a polar vortex. I woke up to a windy morning. Looking out towards the water, I remembered that there was supposed to be a king tide, which brings the water higher than usual. Combined with the wind, I imagined it was going to be all out mayhem by the seawall, where the waves were likely crash against the rocks. I couldn't get the king tide out of my mind, so I decided to go for a quick walk to see if I could capture any interesting sights. I didn't last long out there, even with my stylish heated vest, but I think I've returned with a nice catch (though I'm sure the owners of this vessel would beg to differ).
