This is not my finest photographic moment, but there’s something about this "iconic" street. Apparently, some movie productions have used it as their shooting location. I did not go up to explore it, and this is one of my regrets about the trip. I thought it was a private location for locals only, but apparently, one can go up there and check out the scene. So here’s an out-of-focus shot for the memories of what could have been.

I love culture and learning about it. I enjoy history and try to look at it with a dispassionate eye while appreciating the grandeur as well as tragedy of the human experience. When I stand in front of ruins, I can spend a long time just staring at them, my mind filled with scenes and images of those ancient times. Archeology and anthropology are our attempts at decoding the signals of humanity across time and space. So, you can imagine what immense respect and reverence I have for ancient places.

Watch on 3SpeakThe production of this video began on a sandy tropical beach, where I took off my sandals, put down my satchel, and with camera in hand walked into the sea.I had no intention of going for a swim that day because I was feeling under the weather and staying close to the airport had not been a great idea. The nearby beach was popular, however, so it was nice to go for a walk.

I could hear the birds on the trees above me. I didn’t recognize the calls, but soon I saw who was emitting them: parrots.The parrots were hopping about and flying from tree to tree while giving out loud calls. I also noticed that they were flying towards an abandoned building, clinging to the walls, where I could see them flying in and out of holes. It was literally a pandemonium, as a group of parrots is formally called.

The guide explained the perils of the mountain trail to the novice snowshoers and instructed us on what to watch out for when traversing the tricky terrain. She outlined the different dangers that one can encounter on the snowy trails and how to avoid trouble. She asked the would-be adventurers to pay close attention to the danger of falling in water, for example. Snowshoes can be cumbersome to walk with, so one has to be more careful than usual. Besides a potential head injury, hypothermia can set in seconds and lead to bad consequences.

The Cheshire cat is one of the most endearing characters in English literature. When Alice encounters him during her adventures in wonderland, this humorous piece of dialogue takes place"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
