Seid gegrüßt, Freunde der ungewöhnlichen Himmelsobjekte. Wenn der Lightpainter Objekte wie dieses in seinem Bild zeigt, liegt wohl die Vermutung nahe, dass das Objekt mit Licht vom Lightpainter erschaffen wurde. Dem ist in diesem Fall aber nicht so. Ich habe dieses Objekt so fotografiert, wie es im Bild zu sehen ist. Ich habe weder Größe noch Position am Himmel verändert, auch wenn ich das Bild aus mehreren Ebenen in Gimp zusammengebastelt habe.
Greetings, friends of unusual celestial objects. When the Lightpainter shows objects like this in its image, it is easy to assume that the object was created with light from the Lightpainter. However, this is not the case here. I photographed this object as it can be seen in the picture. I didn't change the size or position in the sky, even though I created the image from several layers in Gimp.

Ich nahm wieder zuerst den Vordergrund auf. Ich beleuchtete die Szene mit der Taschenlampe. Das restliche Sonnenlicht während der Dämmerung beleuchtete die Szene nicht so, wie ich mir das vorgestellt hatte. Die Fässer waren nur schwarze Silhouetten. Aber diese sollten das Hauptmotiv sein.
Again, I took the foreground first. I lit the scene with the torch. The remaining sunlight during twilight did not illuminate the scene as I had imagined. The barrels were just black silhouettes. But these were to be the main motif.
Nach 6 Versuchen war ich mit dem Ergebnis zufrieden. Ja, ich weiß, ich sollte mal den Dreck vom Sensor entfernen. Mach ich sofort, wenn ich mit dem Schreiben des Beitrags fertig bin.
Ich stellte das Stativ dann hinter den Fässern auf und richtete es so aus, dass gerade noch die Bäume im Hintergrund sichtbar waren. Somit konnte ich die Bilder dann in Gimp vernünftig ausrichten und hatte aber gleichzeitig möglichst viel vom Sternenhimmel im Bild. Den Stack aus den 16 Bildern zeige ich im nächsten Bild.
After 6 attempts, I was satisfied with the result. Yes, I know, I should remove the dirt from the sensor. I'll do that as soon as I've finished writing this post.
I then set up the tripod behind the barrels and aligned it so that the trees in the background were just visible. This allowed me to align the images properly in Gimp and at the same time have as much of the starry sky as possible in the image. I show the stack of the 16 images in the next picture.
Leider zogen immer mehr Wolken durch das Bild. Die Wolken zogen auch ziemlich schnell. Somit sind durch das Stacking an einigen Stellen im Bild Sterne "vor" den Wolken zu sehen. Hier noch ein einzelnes Bild aus dem Stack.
Unfortunately, more and more clouds moved through the picture. The clouds also moved quite quickly. As a result of the stacking, stars can be seen "in front of" the clouds in some places in the image. Here is a single image from the stack.
Während ich die Bilder aufnahm entschied ich mich, einen weiteren Stack darüber aufzunehmen. Ich richtete die Kamera soweit nach oben, dass sich die Bilder ca. 50% überlappen. Nachdem ich wieder 16 Bilder aufgenommen hatte, ließ ich die Kamera stehen. Ich hatte die Hoffnung, dass ich die Aufnahmen später mit weniger Wolken wiederholen könnte.
While I was taking the pictures, I decided to take another stack on top. I pointed the camera upwards so that the images overlapped by about 50%. After I had taken another 16 pictures, I left the camera still. I was hoping that I could repeat the shots later with fewer clouds.
Und das war letztendlich eine wirklich gute Idee. Als ich mich mit @stepko über sein Light Painting, an welchem er gerade arbeitete, unterhielt, sahen wir am Himmel dieses merkwürdige Gebilde. Ich lief zur Kamera und löste sie aus. In dem Moment hatte ich nicht die geringste Ahnung, was ich da fotografiert hatte. Wenn es die Ausserirdischen gewesen wären, hätte ich ihnen jedenfalls erstmal ein Bier angeboten.
And that ended up being a really good idea. When I was talking to @stepko about the light painting he was working on, we saw this strange shape in the sky. I ran to the camera and triggered it. At that moment, I didn't have the slightest idea what I had photographed. If it had been the aliens, I would have offered them a beer first.
Um zu verhindern, dass bei der Montage der Bilder in Gimp Sterne mehrfach im fertigen Bild zu sehen sind, habe ich die Sterne mit der Software StarNet++ aus dem Bild entfernt.
Während wir noch rätselten, was das war, tauchten im Internet die ersten Bilder dieses Phänomens auf. Schnell war klar, dass es sich um eine Space X Rakete handelte, welche überflüssigen Treibstoff abgelassen hatte. Dieser vereiste dann in dieser Spiralform und wurde von der Sonne beschienen. Nach ca. 2 Minuten war das Spektakel vorbei. Ich bin sehr froh, dass ich die Kamera in der richtigen Richtung auf dem Stativ montiert hatte und nur noch den Auslöser betätigen musste. Dadurch wird dieses Bild sehr besonders, auch wenn das nicht geplant war. Manchmal darf auch ich mal großes Glück haben. 😁 Bis zum nächsten Besuch der Außerirdischen wünsche ich euch allzeit gutes Licht.
To prevent stars from appearing more than once in the final image when the images were assembled in Gimp, I used the StarNet++ software to remove the stars from the image.
While we were still puzzling over what it was, the first images of this phenomenon appeared on the Internet. It quickly became clear that it was a Space X rocket that had dumped excess fuel. This then iced up in this spiral shape and was illuminated by the sun. After about 2 minutes the spectacle was over. I am very glad that I had mounted the camera in the right direction on the tripod and only had to press the shutter release. That makes this picture very special, even if it wasn't planned. Sometimes even I can be very lucky. 😁 Until the next visit from the aliens, I wish you good light at all times.
