Welcome to my blog! It’s a pleasure to have you here. First, let me give you a little background of myself.

I belong to a family of 4, me being the eldest child. I graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering. I was able to practice my profession for three years, both in local and in international waters.

However, the time came when I asked myself “Is this really where I’m meant to be?” . Destiny and fate, I believe, have their own way of giving answers, and I found mine in an argument with our foreigner Chief Engineer regarding our hours of work and rest as provided for in the Maritime Labor Code. I argued for what was truly right for me and my fellow Filipino engine crew, and it bore positive results. That was when I felt I had to study law. To be of service to others, fighting for their rights as provided for by law. "The sun has set. It is time to move on to a new chapter in my life"

I knew the journey was going to be hard…but I didn’t expect this journey to achieve the title of Juris Doctor to be very difficult. It’s really just a walk in the park…Jurassic Park, as my professors would tell us jokingly! My favorite latin maxim of all time is “actus non facit reum, nisi mens sit rea” which means “The act is not criminal if there is no criminal mind”.

I wish to share with you what I learned from the laws and cases which I have read. This, being just a mere opinion of a simple law student, bears no legal implication whatsoever. I also hope to hear your comments and opinions in the comments down below.
Happy reading!
