There are two groups of people I really enjoy photographing at a wedding (other than of course the bride and groom themselves) and kids are the first group.
Latter-day Saint weddings don't officially do things like flower girls and ring-bearers, but they still often incorporate kiddos in their wedding days. LDS couples are very keenly aware that they themselves are embarking on a journey to start a new family, and they often have lots of niece and nephews or friends with children that becoming part of the beginning of this journey for them.
We had some cute littles at last week's wedding! This little red-head was excited to show off her new green dress.
She inexplicably became a little more shy and concerned, and gripped her Dad's hand.
But by the time the reception started, she was all giggles and grins again!
That is, until the night waned and she got tired again. LOL
Then we had this sweetheart with little blonde ringlets. It was chilly outside, so she buttoned up her sweater to keep warm, hiding her own green dress.
But she was happy and fun-loving during the reception! (And look how much she loves the groom!)
During one of the musical performances of the night, she sat on a lap and clapped in rhythm along with everyone else.
Boys sometimes have a harder time, and I always do manage to find at least one little boy who just "flops" as if to say, "Why oh why do we have to do this, Daddy?" 😂
But then of course there are some who are just curious about everything around them.
Kids are a little unpredictable, but they definitely make for some good moments and memories!
Next post, I'll talk about the other group I especially love to capture at weddings.
